Micromobility refers to lightweight vehicles, typically with speeds under 25km/h, driven by personal users. This includes bicycles, scooters, electric-assist bicycles (e-bikes), electric scooters (e-scooters), and other small, lightweight, wheeled conveyances. These are often rented or borrowed through lending programs in cities.

The Halifax Regional Municipality is currently working on the implementation of a shared micromobility program that will allow users to rent different forms of low-carbon transportation to commute around the city.
